Board of Director and Advisory Council Appointments

The Workers Compensation Board (WCB) is pleased to announce new members appointed to the WCB Board of Directors and the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Advisory Council.

 

Applicants were chosen through the Engage PEI initiative and represent a breadth of knowledge and experience.

  

WCB Board of Directors

Three new members have been appointed to the WCB Board of Directors for a three year term (December 2019- December 2022).

 

  • James MacPhee of Montague has been appointed as Chairperson
  • Nicole McKenna of Stratford has been appointed as Worker Representative and Vice Chairperson
  • Christopher Gillis of Charlottetown has been appointed as Employer Representative

 OHS Advisory Council


Two new members have been appointed to the OHS Advisory Council for a three year term (December 2019- December 2022). 

  • Karen Biggar, from New Annan, has been appointed as a Worker Representative
  • Sam Sanderson, from Charlottetown, has been appointed as an Employer Representative

 

In addition to two new appointments, several reappointments were made to the OHS Advisory Council. 

  • Alan McCormick from Kingston has been reappointed as Employer Representative and Vice Chair
  • Ben MacDonald from Montague has been reappointed as Worker Representative and Chair
  • Lynn Bovyer from North Rustico has been reappointed as Worker Representative
  • Eric MacDonald from Cardigan has been reappointed as Public Representative

  

The WCB Board of Directors is responsible for the governance and strategic planning of the Workers Compensation Board. The Board establishes policies and programs required for the administration of the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

 

The OHS Advisory Council advises the WCB Board of Directors on the administration of the OHS Act and Regulations; monitoring and reporting on OHS activities throughout the province; and exclusions from all or part of the application of the OHS Act or Regulations.

 

The Workers Compensation Board would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the long-standing outgoing members of the WCB Board of Directors and the OHS Advisory Council and would like to offer a warm welcome to the new Board and Advisory Council members.
