The WCB undergoes a thorough process to ensure that the right people join our team.

Job Postings

Jobs that are open to the public are posted on our website and in local media. The posting outlines the basic qualifications, knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the functions as well as a general outline of the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Resumes and Cover Letters

Cover letters and resumes are accepted until the closing date as stated on each posting.

Selecting Candidates for Interviews

Once a competition has closed, resumes are reviewed and a list of potential candidates is created. Only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.

Interviews and Testing

In most cases, the WCB uses a combination of in-person interviews and written tests to evaluate the knowledge, skills and abilities of each candidate.

References

All candidates will be asked to provide a minimum of three professional references.

Choosing the Successful Candidate

A written offer of employment will be provided to the successful candidate. The offer may be conditional on an acceptable criminal record check. Please note that a criminal record does not necessarily exclude a candidate from being offered a position.

All interviewed candidates will be notified in writing of the outcome of the competition.
