The WCB exists to help workers recover from work-related injury and illness.
We do this by providing benefits and services to workers to reduce the impact of work-related injury and illness. Together with our stakeholders, we promote safe workplaces and protect workers and employers through a no-fault accident insurance system.
Safety is everyone's responsibility. As a worker on PEI, you are responsible to work safely and do all you can to create a safe workplace and prevent injuries from happening.
If an injury occurs, the WCB's priority is to make sure you receive the assistance you need. We will work with you so that you know your role in the claim process.
Your cooperation is important during your recovery. If a work-related injury occurs, the WCB will work with you, your employer, and your health care providers to help you recover and stay at or return to work safely. You can expect to be treated with fairness, care, and respect. We act with integrity and professionalism, and we communicate with honesty.
