Entitlement Officers
The Workers Compensation Board of Prince Edward Island is creating a list of qualified candidates to fill Entitlement Officer positions as they become available.
Reporting to the Manager, Claim Processing & Adjudication, Entitlement Officers adjudicate and determine entitlement to benefits on all incoming claims within established standards and benchmarks. Entitlement Officers are responsible for gathering information and examining claims for the purpose of determining entitlement and referring as appropriate to the Work Disability Prevention or Long Term Benefits Section.
These positions interpret and apply Workers Compensation Board legislation, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a post-secondary degree (preferably in health or social sciences) supplemented by 3 years’ experience in a responsible position demonstrating the applicant’s decision-making abilities, analytical and critical thinking skills, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. Experience working in a client centered team environment with responsibility for interpreting legislation and policy and/or determining entitlement; as well as demonstrated ability to manage a client case load is preferred.
Preferences will be given to internal candidates who meet the above criteria.
