The foundation of PEI’s workplace safety and compensation system is its laws, regulations and policies.
In PEI, most of the WCB’s work involves two pieces of legislation, the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and their regulations.
We encourage feedback on our legislation to make sure the laws governing our workplace safety and compensation system remain fair and relevant.
WCB policies set the decision-making framework for determining coverage, benefits and safety standards under these Acts.
Policy development is an ongoing process of review and consultation so that WCB policies reflect and balance the needs of Island workers and employers.
