Workers Compensation Board of Prince Edward Island

Policies

The WCB's policies are the foundation for the decisions that we make to protect Island workers and employers, and to promote workplace safety.

Our policies contain the rules the WCB applies when interpreting the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Each policy is listed below by subject:
  • General WCB Policies cover topics such as access to information, appeals, and WCB administration
  • Claims and Compensation policies explain roles and responsibilities on injured workers’ claims, as well as entitlement to benefits and services to help recover and return to work
  • Claims and Compensation policies explain roles and responsibilities on injured workers’ claims, as well as entitlement to benefits and services to help recover and return to work
  • Workplace Safety and Prevention policies provide parameters on enforcement activities and safety funding
  • Financial policies set out the WCB’s approach to fund management and investment.
All WCB polices are also listed alphabetically here.
