The WCB welcomes Tareq Hadhad to its 2024 Workplace Health and Safety Conference
The Workers Compensation Board’s (WCB) annual Workplace Health and Safety Conference welcomes Tareq Hadhad as the event’s keynote speaker. The conference takes place on May 9, 2024, at the Delta Hotel Prince Edward, in Charlottetown. “We are very pleased to welcome Mr. Hadhad, founder and CEO of Peace by Chocolate, to this year’s conference,” said Dan Campbell, CEO of the WCB. “Tareq is an engaging speaker and a passionate entrepreneur who has a unique life journey to share, from Syrian refugee to successful business owner based out of Nova Scotia to inspiring international speaker. We very much look forward to hearing him speak, and to learn from him and his experiences.” "A diverse workforce isn't just a box to tick, it is a necessity for innovation and creativity,” said Tareq Hadhad. “When everyone brings their own unique perspective to our table, especially when we don't agree, the solutions are a lot richer and the results become extraordinary. Each year, the WCB’s Workplace Health and Safety Conference engages Island workers and employers on a variety of health and safety related topics. This year, workshops include immigration’s impact on workplace dynamics, safety fundamentals for small and medium-sized businesses, navigating fairness at work through the lens of human rights law, young and aging workers in the workplace, employer perspective on empowering foreign talent, stress management and psychological health at work, and many more.
