Our Organization

The Workers Compensation Board of PEI (WCB) has been an integral part of the Island community since 1949. The WCB supports all Island workplaces through education and enforcement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act). Over 80,000 workers and over 6,500 (2022) employers are protected through the fair and effective administration of the Workers Compensation Act.

The work we do is governed by our Board of Directors, and guided by our mission, vision and values.

The Board of Directors delegates responsibility for WCB operations to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) including the administration of WCB programs and the management of our people and resources.

Daniel M. Campbell
Dan started in the role of CEO of the Workers Compensation of PEI on September 5, 2023.

Dan obtained his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2001. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Prince Edward Island.

Prior to joining the WCB, he was Clerk of Executive Council with the PEI provincial government (2021-2023), Deputy Minister of Finance (2019-2021), Secretary to Treasury Board (2014-2019), Account Manager with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (2008-2014) and Senior Finance Manager with Export Development Canada (1998-2008) among other roles.

It’s a full-circle moment for Dan to join the WCB as his grandfather, Michael E. Campbell, helped found the organization here in PEI and later served as its Chair of the Board of Directors. To be able to carry on this legacy is a proud moment for their family.

Dan, his wife and two daughters live in Charlottetown.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - Canada Post Service Disruption

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers announced that its members began a nationwide strike on Friday, November 15, at 12:01am ET. The Workers Compensation Board will monitor the situation on a day-by-day basis, and we will only issue mail if, and when, it is possible to do so, to minimize disruption to our clients. The mail strike does not affect those who receive their payments through direct deposit. Injured workers and health care providers are encouraged to set up direct deposit. 2024 Worker Survey Underway

The WCB's 2024 Worker Survey is now underway. This survey is conducted every two years by an independent reserach firm called Narrative Research (NR). NR will ask our clients about their satisfaction with our progams and services. Paricipation is voluntary and confidential. This survey is one way the WCb gathers feedback from our stakeholders, so that we cna continue to improve how we serve Island workers and employers. Click here for the results of previous surveys.
